In this little proof-of-concept I was eager to try out if I could swap the Microdrive inside an iPod mini for a Compact Flash-card. These cards are getting bigger and cheaper by the day so my idea was, if this works out, we have a great way of extending the life of this little MP3-player.

Cool new free service that tracks stolen USB gadgets like MP3 players, cameras and USB flash drives etc. When the device is stolen you log into the server, flag it as stolen and the next time the device is plugged into a computer it sends the owner of the device info about that system like IP address, location, username and computer name and more.

’ve done it, I’ve taken the plunge from windows to Linux. And I can truthfully say, I’m not looking back. My disto of choice, Ubuntu 6.10 edgy eft. I’ve compiled a list of the top 10 must have programs. This is not a complete list by any means, but it should save you a lot of time when you make the switch.
